The term "three types of impurities" (三丝) in cotton refers to non-cotton fibers and colored fibers mixed into raw cotton that severely degrade the quality of cotton and its products. These include synthetic fibers (e.g., chemical fibers, plastic films, plastic filaments), hemp fibers, thread ropes, fabric scraps, paper fragments, and animal-derived contaminants such as human, dog, rodent, chicken, and duck hair or feathers. These impurities collectively encompass synthetic, dyed, and non-cotton natural fibers. When these impurities enter the cotton processing chain, they form "impurity particles" during the ginning process. Cotton contaminated with such particles degrades significantly in yarn and fabric production. During spinning, these defects either become embedded within the yarn or adhere to its surface, causing uneven yarn thickness, increased breakage rates, and higher counts of neps and impurities. The resulting yarn exhibits reduced tensile strength, poor dyeing uniformity, and compromised fabric integrity, ultimately driving up defect rates in finished cotton textiles
Xcotton Machinery's newly launched Seed Cotton Image-Based Three-Types-of-Impurities (三丝) Cleaning Machine enables cotton processing enterprises to increase revenue by hundreds of yuan per ton of lint cotton. To mitigate quality degradation in yarn and fabric caused by impurities such as foreign fibers (三丝), textile manufacturers are forced to deploy specialized workers to manually open cotton bales, loosen cotton blocks, and meticulously pick out contaminants at every stage of spinning, significantly raising production costs while still yielding unsatisfactory results.
By addressing impurity removal at the source, Xcotton Machinery's cleaning technology reduces downstream burdens for textile enterprises, enhancing both efficiency and profitability
